The 理学学士 degree in 土木工程 is offered at pp电子极速糖果 through the CMU/CU Boulder 工程 Partnership Program and is delivered in its entirety in Grand Junction. Students take classes from faculty of pp电子极速糖果 during the first half of the program and take engineering classes from faculty of the University of Colorado Boulder who reside in Grand Junction during the second half of the program. Students apply for admission to the University of Colorado Boulder during the second year of the program.

Students in the 工程 Partnership Program enjoy small class sizes, 实践学习, 以及把教学放在第一位的教师. The curricula of the engineering partnership programs are modeled after the corresponding programs at the University of Colorado Boulder.

All first- and second-year students in the 工程 Partnership Program are assigned an engineering student mentor who provides 1:1 coaching on class registration, 校园资源, and tips on what it takes to be a successful engineering student.

Students are required to take the Fundamentals of 工程 (FE) Exam before graduating. The FE exam is the first step in the process of becoming a professional licensed engineer (PE). It is designed for students who are close to finishing an undergraduate engineering degree from an ABET accredited engineering program.

Students completing the pp电子极速糖果/University of Colorado Boulder 土木工程 Partnership Program receive a 理学学士 degree in 土木工程 from the University of Colorado Boulder. The 土木工程 CMU/CU Boulder Partnership (理学学士) is accredited by the 工程 认证 Commission of ABET, http://www.abet.org, under the General Criteria and the Civil and Similarly Named 工程 Programs Program Criteria. Both pp电子极速糖果 and the University of Colorado Boulder are accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.

教育目标

The program objectives for the 理学学士 in 土木工程 are that within five years:

  1. Graduates will be successfully employed in engineering, 科学 or technology careers.
  2. Graduates will be assuming management or leadership roles.
  3. Graduates will engage in continual learning by pursuing advanced degrees or additional educational opportunities through coursework, 专业会议和培训, 和/或参加专业协会.
  4. Graduates will pursue professional registration or other appropriate certifications.
  5. Graduates will be engaged in activities that provide benefit to communities.
